Snore Operation

cosmetic surgery procedure clue

In certain cases, a Snore Opera may be required in order to correct the problem. These operations are done using surgical methods. One example is somnoplasty. This uses heat energy to alter tissues. This procedure is done in an office setting under local anesthesia. This is not recommended for those suffering from sleep apnea.

Snoring can be treated by a number of surgical procedures. Most cases of snoring can be treated with surgical procedures. Some procedures can improve the sound quality and shrink the soft palate. This reduces the likelihood of snoring. The results of a snore surgery will depend on the patient.

Recent research has shown that minimally invasive surgery can reduce the amount of snoring. However, results in patients with obstructive sleep apnea have been modest. Patients may want to have minimally invasive surgery despite lack of clear evidence. This is to fix their habitual snoring.

MMA surgery

MMA surgery for snoring can help a person breathe easier and have a better night's sleep. It works by using radiofrequency energy to create controlled lesions in soft tissue that are causing obstruction. The scarring reduces tissue volume and stiffens remaining tissue. This procedure can be done on several parts of the airway including the soft palate, base of the tongue and nasal turbinates. The procedure is done under local anesthesia.

The success rate of MMA surgery is very high. Within two to three week, patients can return to normal functioning. A skilled and experienced surgeon is required for this procedure.

Laser-assisted uvulopalatoplasty

Laser-assisted uvulopalatoplasty, or LAUP, is a surgical procedure to address the underlying causes of loud habitual snoring. It's performed under local anesthesia. The CO2 laser is used for opening the oropharyngeal passageway. Although it's not effective in eliminating all types and forms of snoring the LAUP has demonstrated promising results in reducing upper airway resistance.

LAUP is an all-in-one procedure that can be performed under local sedation. A highly skilled ENT physician performs the procedure. The patient will be positioned in a seated place while wearing protective eyeglasses. The surgeon applies a 10% solution of lidocaine to the palate and base area of the tongue. A second injection of 2% Mepivacaine is made to the base and sides of the uvula. The laser is then connected to the patient’s mouth using a handpiece. This is a very common surgical procedure. The surgeon uses a "backstop", to stop the laser from damaging the posterior part of the pharynx.

Ruhrpumpen surgery

For many patients, lifestyle changes or medications alone are not enough. Ruhrpumpen may be the only treatment. This surgery uses radiofrequency to create controlled lesion in soft tissues. These scars can narrow the airway while strengthening the rest of the tissue. This procedure can be done on many areas of the airway including the base of the tongue and soft palate. The procedure can be performed under local pain management.

This surgery may be beneficial for patients who suffer from severe or persistent snoring. The procedure involves the surgical removal of excess soft tissue and sometimes the uvula. Although it has been used for decades to treat chronic snoring, new techniques are being created to improve the results.
